Mel grew up in the beautiful coastal city of Santa Barbara, California, where her love for music began at an early age. She started playing piano at just five years old, picked up the guitar at eleven, and has been singing for as long as she can remember. Songwriting became a passion in junior high, setting the foundation for a lifelong journey in music.

After moving to Seattle with thoughts of attending grad school, Mel ultimately found her true calling outside the classroom—working while continuing to pursue her passion for music. With over 18 years of experience leading church music services, eight years in a professional choir, and more than 15 years performing original music, she has built a career that blends skill, heart, and deep connection with her audience. For the past five years, she has brought her music to weddings, professional events, breweries, and wineries, creating unforgettable experiences wherever she performs.
